I found the young of this species living in a swamp a few yds from the house of Mr. C.A. Morsing, Mendes, & at a height of 1700 feet above the sea. Adult sps. twice as large as this are common [?] found near by. Hartt. Mendes No. 20. Young from above locality. pond near Mr. C.A. Morsing's, and near Mendes Station on the Dom Pedro R.R. about 1500 ft. above level of the sea, collected E. Copeland (Hartt)--Hartt, Charles Frederick.
