Description
English: "School House, Ardmore, Staff"

Though differing from the diplomatic and academic "hoypaloi" of our recent RIA shot, here we see another group shot with academic overtones from the summer of 1924.

These are staff at the Ardmore schoolhouse in Co Waterford. Considering that the scholars from a companion photo (which we shared a few years back) are of the "mature student" variety, we presumed that these were the leaders of a school of language and music/culture. From previous investigations and the Waterford County Museum notes, we knew that the schoolhouse was demolished in the 1950s - but could we find-out any more about the school and staff?

As usual our intrepid Flickroonies were up to the challenge, and [/photos/129555378@N07/ sharon.corbet] [/photos/91549360@N03/ Dr O Mac], and [/photos/47297387@N03/ Carol Maddock] in particular were able to confirm the location of the school, its use as a teacher-training facility, and even the likely names for some of the subjects of this and the companion photo.
