Summary edit

Description
English: Clare station - the old crane
Clare station is situated in the grounds of Clare Castle > 2072116. It was opened in 1865 by the Great Eastern Railway as an extension of the already existing line between Marks Tey and Sudbury. It closed in 1967. The station has been preserved and presently forms part of Clare Country Park. All the station buildings > 2072126 - 2072127 including the goods shed > 2072119 are still in place. The latter retains a short section of track and a crane and is now the visitor centre for the country park.
