| Description |
English: Clearfelled forest above Hirnant The map shows a forest - the ground shows acres of brashings and stumps. Somewhere through here runs a footpath, but it was impossible to follow. Every few yards there was a marshy hole, about 2' square, with a pile of earth next to it, and a rowan or silver birch sapling planted. The sheep had cropped a lot of them, but many look as if they'll make it. |
