Summary edit

Description

This English Gothic Revival-style building was constructed in 1905 at the corner of Euclid Avenue and East 30th Street in Cleveland's Central neighborhood. The building was home to the Cleveland First United Methodist Church for much of it's history, seeing the modification of the rear of the building in the mid-20th Century, which removed a rounded apse that once stood at the back of the sanctuary and replaced it with a classroom and office wing, which is the only substantial change that has occurred to the building. The First Methodist congregation, which had been established in 1827, merged with the Epworth-Euclid Methodist Church to form University Circle Methodist Church in 2010. The building was briefly home to the Euclid Avenue Congregational Church, following the loss of the congregation's church in a 2010 fire, but the congregation has since moved to a new location in the Cleveland Suburb of South Euclid. Today, the church has been auctioned off, and it's future is unknown, but it will most likely be adaptively reused, as it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.
