L'abside semi-circulaire.

L'église est formée d'une nef assez longue, rectangulaire, suivie d'un choeur carré de même largeur et d'une abside hémicirculaire.

Elle appartint de 1080 à 1789 à l'abbaye de Marmoutier* à laquelle elle a été concédée parHugues Capelle (1056-1102), vicomte de Châteaudun et son frère Geoffroy.

L'abside est ornée au-dehors d'une corniche à modillons sculptés de têtes de monstres. Le porche de charpente a été ajouté au XVe siècle. Le clocher est une flèche de charpente établie au-dessus du choeur. Une tourelle de pierre octogone et saillante, du XVe, donne accès aux combles de la nef et au clocher.

• Le monastère de Marmoutier fut fondé par saint Martin, évêque de Tours de 370 à 397, sur la rive nord de la Loire, à environ 2 km en amont de la cité, et est demeuré en activité jusqu’à laRévolution.

The semi-circular apse.

The church consists of a rectangular nave enough, followed by a square choir of the same width and a semicircular apse.

The church belonged from 1080 to 1789 in the Abbey of Marmoutier * to which it was granted by Hugh Capelle (1056-1102), Viscount Châteaudun and his brother Geoffrey.

The apse is decorated on the outside with a cornice corbels carved heads of monsters. Framing the porch was added in the fifteenth century. The bell tower is a spire structure built over the choir. An octagonal turret and stone protruding from the XV, provides access to the attic of the nave and bell tower.

• Monastery Marmoutier, was founded on the north bank of the Loire, about 2 km upstream of the city, by St. Martin, Bishop of Tours from 370 to 397.The monastery remained in service until the Revolution.
