English: Closed footpath at Lepe Country Park The notice reads "Footpath closed due to erosion. Sections of the path here have been washed away by the sea during recent storms. Repairing the footpath in its current form is no longer a viable option. We are currently working with other partners such as Natural england to develop a sustainable footpath for the future. Sorry for any inconvenience". The notice is anonymous.
I confess I was infuriated by this notice which, as you can see, has been treated with contempt by the public who have broken down the red plastic barriers. There is nothing wrong with this path that a few shovels of gravel wouldn't fix, and there is plenty of gravel on the beach. |
