Summary edit

Description

English: This SEM (scanning electron microscopy) image depicts a co-continuous blend of two incompatible polymers : polyethylene-co-octene and polyethylene oxide.

This blend is not homogeneous because the polymers are not compatible. It leads to irregular shapes that percolate the sample, giving a co-continuity phenomenon. Additionnally to this structure, there are droplets of a polymer in the other one.
