Summary edit

Description
English: Al Ain oasis is a lush green patch of land in the hot sandy deserts of UAE. It is unique because of its history and geography. Watered and silted by natural aquifers fed by rain in the mountains, the oasis has been under continuous cultivation since at least 3000 years. Aquifers have been tapped by a system of vertical shafts and canals called Qanats and Aflaj to irrigate the date and fruit gardens along with grains and grass.
