Object history
Deutsch: Verleihung des Gemeindewappens und Genehmigung der vom Gemeinderat am 21. September 1972 festgesetzten Gemeindefarben durch Beschluss der oberösterreichischen Landesregierung vom 15. Jänner 1973. In der vorderen Hälfte des Wappens der Hinweis auf das Kirchenpatrozinium des hl. Laurentius, der im Jahre 258 nach der zum Teil legendären Leidensgeschichte auf einem glühenden Rost zu Tode gemartert wurde. - Die sich viermal wiederholenden silber-roten Schräglinksbalken sind das Stammwappen der alten oberösterreichischen Adelsfamilie der Polheimer, die am Beginn des 12. Jahrhunderts in das Licht der Geschichte tritt und deren heute nicht mehr vorhandener Stammsitz in der Katastralgemeinde Forsthof lag. Am 19. November 1909 erlosch mit dem Tode des Grafen Adolf das Geschlecht.
