Description
English: Coat of arms of the former Danish Aabenraa county. Granted 1960. The two crossed swords represent the "army road" (Hærvejen), a historical road through the county. The crown refers to the fact that in medieval times Danish kings were enthroned at Urnehoved Ting assembly in the county.
Dansk: Det tidligere Aabenraa amts våben. Tildelt 1960. Sværdene henviser til Hærvejen, mens kronen symboliserer at danske konger tidligere blev hyldet på Urnehoved Ting.
