Nederlands: Foto. Deze foto van een feestelijke gebeurtenis in het Wilhelminapark op het Wilhelminaplein in de wijk Pietermaai is gemaakt door de fotostudio 'Soublette et Fils' in Willemstad. We weten helaas niet welke gebeurtenis hier plaatsvindt, al lijken we iets over de datering te kunnen zeggen op basis van de signatuur 'Soublette et Fils Photographes' en het wapen van het Koninklijk Huis dat daarbij is afgedrukt. Vanaf 1906 mocht fotostudio 'Soublette et Fils' het predikaat hoffotograaf - inclusief het koninklijk wapen - voeren. Dat maakt een periode in de jaren 1906-1910 aannemelijk. Daarbij dienen we echter een slag om de arm te houden. Er is gesuggereerd dat de gebeurtenis mogelijk de onthulling van het standbeeld van gouverneur Barge zou betreffen in 1899 (Schiltkamp 1999: 60-61). Mr. C.A.H. Barge was gouverneur van Curaçao in de periode 1890-1901. De onthulling van zijn borstbeeld in het Wilhelminapark vond plaats op zondag 6 mei 1900. Het kan heel best dat deze foto inderdaad van die datum is en later (na 1906) nog eens is afgedrukt.
Rechts is de Emanuel synagoge te zien, tussen de vrijmetselaarsloge "De Vergenoeging" en de Hendrikschool. De foto geeft een wijde blik over Pietermaai. Ver op de achtergrond is links de Heilige Rozenkranskerk te zien, die in 1958 de status van kathedraal zou krijgen. Het was de eerste door de Orde der Dominicanen gebouwde rooms-katholieke kerk op Curaçao. Naar verluid werd de eerste steen gelegd in 1876 en vond de inwijding plaats in 1882.
