Description Combination penetration firestop. This firestop is made with Nelson CMP firestop mortar. Penetrants include a pipe, a conduit and the top of an open web steel joist. Mechanical, electrical and structural penetrants all in one. This happens all the time. That is why it is important for manufacturers to test complex seals for certification and why consultants need to pay attention to bounding.
