Medal. Milled commemorative medal, dated 1870. Torn at top.

Obverse description: Perspective view of aisled building with round window above the door at its gable end and with several flags flying over it.

Obverse inscription: WORKING MENS A(RT, INDUSTRIAL & GENERAL) EXHIBITION.HULL., above which is the date OPENED/JUNE 20th 1870. The finder kindly supplied a full transcript of the legend from her own research.

Reverse description: Three crowns in laurel wreath, the badge of the Corporation of Kingston upon Hull.

Reverse inscription: (J.M. DEBES, GENERAL LETTER WORKS, HIGH STREETHULL)

Diameter: 37.3mm, Weight: 15.02gms, die axis: 12.
