English: 3-D rendering of mammary gland terminal end buds. The VivaCell 5000 software acquires multiple high resolution digital image slices vertically through mammary gland morphological structures, such as the terminal end bud, called VivaStacks. The video is a compilation of three VivaStacks, each consisting of 16 images at 1.585 μm increments, which included entire terminal end bud structures. The Volume Viewer plug-in of the ImageJ software (Image Analysis and Processing in Java, the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD) [55] artificially colored the images from the combination of all the stacks and produced a 3-D representation. |
