Summary edit
DescriptionConcrete Culverts Hidden By a Stone Wall - geograph.org.uk - 732150.jpg |
English: Concrete Culverts Hidden By a Stone Wall This strange assortment of culverts allows water from Mere Gill to pass beneath the Apedale Road. When there is excess water in this small gill the upper pipe allowes the stream to escape into Apedale Beck. The fact that there is a stone wall here suggests that this may have been a stone flagged culvert or small bridge before it was modernised. |
