Pink field, yellow border, and six-pointed stars are correct as per the official CSA Army specifications. Modern popular rectangular version with five-pointed stars and red field without a border appears after the Civil War as the 'Rebel Flag' as part of post-war Confederate romanticism movements and is based on field-produced replacement battle flags fashioned by soldiers from captured Union flags as replacements to their official-issue (pink) battle flags destroyed in combat.
