Deutsch: Dreidimensionale Darstellung eines Details der Oberfläche einer 1-Euro-Münze: Dargestellt ist einer der erhabenen Sterne. Das 3d Profil der Oberfläche wurde mit einem konfokalen Weißlichtmikroskop µsurf der Firma NanoFocus vermessen. Der laterale Messbereich betrug 800 µm mal 800 µm (0,8 mm mal 0,8 mm), der vertikale Bereich ist ungefähr 60 µm (0,06 mm) hoch. Die Farben der Oberfläche zeigen die Höhe, entsprechend der rechts dargestellten Skale, an. Die Grafik wurde mit MATLAB erstellt.
English: Three dimensional representation of a 1-euro coin's surface detail: One of the stars embossed on one side of the coin is shown. The 3d profile has been measured with a µsurf confocal white light microscope from NanoFocus. The lateral range of the measurement is 800 µm by 800 µm (0.8 mm by 0.8 mm), the vertical range is approximately 60 µm (0.06 mm). The colours of the surface show the height according to the scale on the right side of the image. The graphics was created using MATLAB.
