Deutsch: Vorderseite: CONSTAN-TINOPOLIS. Drapierte Büste der Constantinopolis mit belorbeertem Helm nach l., über ihrer l. Schulter ein Zepter.

Rückseite: SMAN I. Victoria steht in der Vorderansicht auf einem Schiffsbug (prora). Sie stützt ihre l. Hand auf einen Rundschild und hält ein Zepter in ihrer r. Hand.

Kommentar: Laut RIC VII S. 693 Anm. 91 sind Urbs Roma- und Constantinopolismünzen dieser beiden Serien nur durch Gewicht und Schrötlingsgröße unterscheidbar, es werden aber keine Daten hierzu genannt. - Constantinopolis (heute Istanbul), das früherere Byzantion und jetzt die neue Hauptstadt des spätantiken römische Reiches, wurde am 11.5.330 n. Chr. offiziell eingeweiht. Die Entscheidung hierzu war wahrscheinlich nach der Vicennalienfeier des Constantinus I. im Jahre 326 n. Chr. gefallen. Bronzemünzen dieses Typs wurde ab 330 n. Chr. in den verschiedenen Münzstätten des Reiches geprägt, um an dieses Ereignis zu errinnern. Sie gehen einher mit einer vergleichbaren Prägung für die Urbs Roma.
