Summary edit

Description
English: In this oblique night-time view of Einthoven cold spot crater (center of image) and surrounding areas, the 1.1-kilometer-wide crater has a white floor because it is rocky and warm (rocks are good at absorbing and holding onto solar heat). Its rim and ejecta blanket, less rocky, are red and yellow, respectively. Dark blue marks the cold spot anomaly. The image is a section of an LROC WAC global mosaic draped over a Digital Elevation Model based on LRO Lunar Orbiting Laser Altimeter (LOLA) data and colorized with Diviner night-time surface temperature data. Image width is about 200 kilometers. [NASA/GSFC/UCLA]
