DescriptionCoral Restoration at Pigeon Key (Florida, US).png |
English: With coral reefs suffering world wide, a novel method to bring back corals is being tested at Pigeon Key, Florida. A university student moves the blocks needed to jump start the reef. The blocks contain chemical cues and nutrients to attract and settle coral larvae on its surface. The test materials survived Hurricane Irma. English: A Valdosta State University student uses a shallow draft boat to move heavy blocks that will be used in a coral restoration project taking place at Pigeon Key in the Florida Keys. |
