English: Corner of the dam on Offa's Pool. This high brick wall (seen here 827709 from across the pool) seems to have been built as a dam for the pool. I personally doubt it could ever have held back much water as it does not appear to have been banked up on the downhill side.
There are several pools in Leighton Park woods. Various sources suggest they were built and used in association with a water turbine which powered machinery, including a funicular railway, on this high-tech Victorian Estate.
