Description Alonzo Lawrence was honored by the Chesapeake Section comprised of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Delaware as the 2013 Operator of the Year. The award recognizes the individual’s extraordinary commitment to drinking water quality standards as well as contributions to improvements in plant operations and training of fellow operators. For the past 13 years working as a senior operator at the McMillan Water Treatment Plant, Mr. Lawrence has epitomized the tenets of the award. He also is very active in community youth events. This award reflects the high regard the Association has for Washington Aqueduct Drinking Water Operations.
