Description
Português: Cortejo de simpatizantes republicanos em frente dos Paços do Concelho de Silves, na região do Algarve, em Portugal. Foi organizado em 23 de Fevereiro de 1919 para comemorar o fracasso de uma tentativa de revolução por parte de tropas monárquicas. Ao fundo são visíveis ruínas das antigas muralhas da cidade. Esta imagem foi publicada na Ilustração Portuguesa n.º 681, de 10 de Março de 1919, e digitalizada pela Hemeroteca Municipal de Lisboa.
English: Procession of republican supporters in front of the Town Hall of Silves, in the Algarve region, in southern Portugal. It was organized on February 23, 1919 to commemorate the failure of an attempted revolution by troops loyal to the portuguese monarchy, deposed in 1910. In the background are visible the ruins of the city wall. This image was published on the Ilustração Portuguesa magazine No. 681, of the 10th March 1919, and scanned by the Hemeroteca Municipal de Lisboa.
