Summary
editDescriptionCounterflow animation normal.gif | Animated demonstration of the counterflow principle. When the media in a heat- or ionexchanger are flowing in opposite directions, transfer will be more complete. This is because the temperature- or concentration-gradient between the two flows will vanish during the trip through the exchanger. When the flows are in opposite direction this gradient persists over all of the exchanging area. This animation is the normal-flow version, see below for the counter version. |
