Summary edit

Description
English: Fatehpur Sikri was built by Akbar at a place called Sikrigarh after vanquishing the ruling Rajput clan over there. Meant to be the city of his dreams, Akbar oversaw the design and construction of the city himself and moved his capital from Agra to Fatehpur Sikri, but left the city soon after. The huge and magnificent complex that stands today is a testimony to the craftsmanship of the artisans and workers who enjoyed patronage of the Mughal suzerain.
