English: Cranes and construction site, Belfast – The foreground is currently a waste ground beside the Sydenham Road in Belfast but is set to be redeveloped as part of the 'Titanic Quarter' 7160386 redevelopment in the area. It is currently in use as a storage are for some of the equipment and materials used in the construction.
In the background are the gantry cranes 'Samson' and 'Golaith' at the Harland and Wolff building dock - see 7160335 for further images of the cranes. The crane nearest the camera is 'Goliath' and is in the process of lifting an enormous steel construction which is part an offshore transformer platform destined for an offshore windfarm off north-western Germany (jacket substructure of the BARD 1 substation platform). |
