Summary edit
DescriptionCreosoting plant - Calders Ltd, Brandon. - geograph.org.uk - 402532.jpg |
English: Creosoting plant - Calders Ltd, Brandon. Timber merchants. This is the steam powered creosoting plant with pressure and vacuum pumps driven by steam. Adds a whole new meaning to steam preservation.
Little wisps of steam confirm that the plant is live (not to mention smelly and sticky). The cylindrical vessel is the vessel that the creosoting occurs within and can be put under pressure and vacuum. This is now all gone and the steam pumps are at Fengate Farm, Weeting and can be seen at the annual Weeting Steam Rally. |
