English: Handwritten on verso: CELTIC CHIEF 3 m. ship Capt. J. Jones CELTIC CHIEF was built in Dubmarton by Archibald McMillan & Son in 1885. It was owned by Jones & Co. of Liverpool until 1911, when she was purchased by a Norwegian company and renamed Artensis. In July of 1917 she was scuttled by the German submarine U-87 west of Ireland, on a trip from Hampton Roads to Glasgow.
