English: Crossing the viaduct Crossing the viaduct by foot in a Carlisle direction. This viaduct was completed in 1875 and until the early 1990's was double track. The slight right hand curve is clearly visible here. The viaduct travels slightly uphill in this direction, the north end is 12 feet taller than the southern. [Please note: Access to the railway was made available through an officially organised event. It is dangerous and a criminal offence to walk along the railway] |
