Description
English: Crown Pet Foods, Torbay Road, Castle Cary I was intrigued by the appearance of this building. Originally I thought that this was Centaur Services, a company started in 1964 to supply veterinary products, a sort of Boots for pets. However, I have since been advised that the factory is Crown Pet Foods. It seems there is considerable controversy over the environmental impact the factory is having on the local community. The local BBC link is a good place to start http://www.bbc.co.uk/somerset/content/articles/2008/05/22/crown_pet_food_feature.shtml The viewpoint is the railway bridge over the line to Yeovil.
