Description
  • English: Giovanni Crupi (1849-1925), Two male nudes from behind. Catalogue # 0132. Cm 11,5x16,5. The book that published this image remarks it comes from the "Crupi archive", however, the influence (if not an outright authorship) from Crupi's close friend Wilhelm von Gloeden is evident here. This same image appears again in Gloeden's catalogue at number 0043, stamped: "Deponirt 2 Janv. 1902". A print auctioned at Galerie Bassenge, bore on the reverse the inscription: "Turi serpente" e un amico ("Salvatore "the snake" and a friend of his").
