English:
East gate. Csigakert (lit. Whorled Garden) is a 'plant ecology display garden'. Local grade Protected Natural Area. Size: 41222m2 (~4hectares). Protescted since 1980. Owned by local government of Gyula. György János Harruckern recieved the manor/estate of Gyula in 1721. He built a Baroque mansion close to Gyula Castle. Around the mansion was a hunting garden/game reserve/ with deers and pheasants, in around 1750 different lakes created in the park for swans, turtles, fish, crabs and vegetable garden, fruit garden, vineyard made. In around 1812 partly remodelled to a landscape garden. The Csigakert (lit. Whorled Garden) is a small remains of this landscape garden. Named after its observatory hill (Csigadomb lit. Whorled Hill) because a spiral walkway lead up to its top. Most of the former mansion park builded-in. From three side bordered by family houses (and hotel), from north the Élővíz-csatorna (lit. Living water canal). In the 1950s the observatory hill replaced by a outdoor theater. After circe 1990 (2000?) the outdoor theater demolished the former spiral walking path symbolically marked. Notable trees in the Park: common oak, Tilia × euchlora, honey locust - between Bethlen Gábor Street, Csiga Street, Mátyás király Street, Part Street, Gyula, Békés County, Hungary.

Csigakert növényökológoiai bemutatókert. 1980 óta helyi védettségű természetvédelmi terület. Harruckern-Wenckheim-Almássy-kastély parkja az egykori 'tájképi kert', melynek egy része ma a Gyulai Strandfürdő és közpark (Csigakert). Az egykori kastély kert a nevét kilátódombja után kapta melyre csigavonalban íves sétaút vezetett. A domb helyén az 1950-es években egy szabadtéri színpadot létesítettek. A színpad elbontása (1990/2000??) után az egykori 'csiga sétaútat' ún. tipegőúttal jelképesen megjelőlték. Idős fák a kert-parkban: kocsányos tölgy krímihárs és krisztustóvis. Forrás: helyi tájékoztató. - Egykori Harruckern-Wenckheim-Almásy kastély parkja. Korábban franciakert és vadaskert, majd a birtokhatárig nyúló tájképi kert. A kert egykori területét kettészeli a Fehér-Körös/Élővíz-csatorna. Az 1884-es kataszteri térképen az északi területrészen a tájképi kert a vár tömbjéig nyúlt, magába foglalva a lovarda épületét is. A folyóágtól délre a mai Csigakert területét fedi le. A park akkori területén egyéb beépítés nem volt Info: 2019-es gyula.hu értékkataszter. Itt található műalkotások: Erzsébet királyné mellszobra (Avatás 1988, Avatás Göndöcsparkban 1904-ben[1], Felek Gyula, Morgós András (restaurátor, közreműködő), márvány) ÉS Székelykapu (Felállítás 2009, Bodor János (fafaragó)) A kaput Bodor János tervezte, Díszítéséhez az 1761-ben készült pávai (Háromszék, Erdély) kapu motívumait használta fel. Állíttatta: Kovászna testvérváros önkormányzata. - Kapu (Gyöngyösi Lajos 2010) - Békés megye, Gyula, Bethlen Gábor utca, Mátyás király utca, Csiga utca, Part utca hrsz.: 2823, 2824/1, 2825.
