| Description |
English: We love this picture of Customs House, like something out of a Dickens story or BBC production set. The buggies and tram and take a look at that telegraph pole to the left; it has 14 bars of those bell cup thingys which cockatoos love to chew on and explode. It would have been a telegraph repairers nightmare!
Today we can visit the Customs House to enjoy a coffee or wine and watch the sun set over the Brisbane River or view the latest Art Gallery display in the front rooms. Now a major Tourist and reception venue and no longer a coin counting house it once was. Queensland State Archives Digital Image ID 2192 |
