DescriptionCutting Across It (46040877654).jpg |
This area of Coprates Chasma has some very high thermal inertia surfaces, which means more heat is retained during nighttime than some of the surrounding terrain. What causes this? Note the fault-like bands that cut across part of the bedrock. (Less than 5 km across.) NASA/JPL/University of Arizona www.uahirise.org/ESP_039617_1670 |
