Edward George Bruton, of No. 1, Park Cres-cent, Oxford. Certain Improvements in theForm and Method of Imparting Motion toVelocipedes, Carriages, or other Vehicles. This Invention consists of a new form of impartingmotion to velocipedes or other vehicles having threeor more wheels, which wheels shall receive their motionfrom a traversing platform, to which motion is im-parted by walking or running thereon ; the platformconsisting of endless bands, of a substance offering re-sistance to the foot, passing over rollers suspended fromthe said vehicle, which rollers, by pulley-bauds, chains,or other means, put in motion certain wheels of thesaid vehicle and thereby propel the same. We have heard the tricycle compared to a tread-millby unkind and wearied riders, but it has remained forour English brot
