Português: Retrato do bispo D. Luís Figueiredo de Lemos, 7º bispo do Funchal. O Il. E Rmo. S.r D. Lois Figueiredo de Lemos foi comfirmado em 1585 / faleceu em 1608. D. Luís de Figueiredo de Lemos (Vila do Porto, ilha de Santa Maria, Açores, 21 Ago. 1544; Funchal, 26 Nov. 1608). Aluno do colégio jesuíta de Santo Antão, em Lisboa, estudou ainda em Coimbra e no Porto, onde foi ordenado, voltando aos Açores, onde foi administrador eclesiástico da ilha de São Miguel. Com a nomeação de D. Pedro de Castilho para bispo dos Açores, passou a deão da sé de Angra e, com a nomeação do bispo dos Açores para vice-rei de Portugal, seria apresentado bispo do Funchal. Apresentado para bispo em Mar. 1585, chegou a confirmação a 5 Mar. 1586, sendo sagrado no final desse mês e dando entrada no Funchal a 4 Ago. 1586. |
