| Description |
English: DB Class VT11.5 (later Class 601) 'Trans Europ Express' 1,100 hp B-2 power car No.601 015 (ex-No.5015) in Marklin 'Blues Star Train' promotional livery at the Augsburg Bahnpark, 8 May 2016. MAN and LHB built 19 power cars and Wegmann built 45 trailers in 1972 to operate in sets consisting of 2 power cars and 5 trailers - 1 kitchen/dining car, 1 dining bar car, 3 1st class cars. In 1980 some sets were used on 'Touristik' services and in 1988 other sets were switched to Inter City services (and reclassified 602). The last DB sets were withdrawn in 1988 but 2 sets were refurbished and in 1990 sold to the DR (where it operated as I unit) but this was withdrawn just a year later. 11 half sets were built for the DSB. |
