Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde am 18 August 1937 dem Amt Eiserfeld durch den Oberpräsidenten der preußischen Provinz Westfalen verliehen und 1967 (genehmigt durch den nordrhein-westfälischen Innenminister) von der neu gegründeten Stadt Eiserfeld weitergeführt. Die alte Stadt Eiserfeld wurde um die ehemaligen Gemeinden Eisern, Gosenbach, Ober- und Niederschelden erweitert. Es zeigt den geminderten nassauischen Löwen und den Eingang des in Eiserfeld liegenden Reinhold-Forster-Erbstollens und das Bergmannsgezäh.
English: The arms were granted on August 18, 1937 for the Amt Eiserfeld (desolved 1966) and confirmed by the new city of Eiserfeld in 1967. The lion in the upper part of the new arms is the lion of Nassau, as the area belonged to the County Nassau-Siegen. The gate is the entrance to an iron mine, called "Reinhard Forster Erbstollen", hammer and pick symbolise the long mining tradition in the city. |
