Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Erle: „In Rot ein silberner (weißer) schrägrechter Balken, darin drei rote Eichhörnchen.“ Das Wappen wurde nie offiziell genehmigt, ist aber seit 1934 im Gebrauch. Es entstammt dem Wappen der Ritter von Erle auch als die Herren von Ichorne bekannt. Da keine Farben bekannt waren, wurden die westfälischen Farben rot und silbern (weiß) gewählt.
English: The arms were never officially granted, but adopted by the municipality in 1934. The arms, with three squirrels in a bend, are taken from the arms of the medieval Knights von Erle, which were also known as Von Ichorne. The squirrels are canting, Ichorne, or Eichhorn in modern German, means squirrel.As no colours were known for the arms of the family, the municipality chose the above colours in 1934.
