Description
Deutsch: Wappen von Essen-Oststadt, dahinter verbergen sich die 1926 zunächst in die Stadt Steele und später 1929 in die Stadt Essen eingemeindeten märkischen Gemeinden Königssteele, Eiberg, Freisenbruch und Horst:
„Gespalten in Blau und Gold (Gelb); farbenwechselnd in Gold und Schwarz auf der Teilungslinie eine aufrechte Pferdepramme über einem Ring.“

Das Wappen wurde von Kurt Schweder entworfen und hatte nie offiziellen Charakter. Ende der 1980er Jahre schuf der Heraldiker für alle Essener Stadtteile Wappen. Sie sind inzwischen von der Essener Bevölkerung gut angenommen worden.

Die Pferdepramme stammt aus dem Wappen der Herren von Horst und der Ring aus dem Steeler Wappen. Das Wappen beinhaltet sowohl die Essener Farben Blau und Gold als auch die Steeler Farben Gold und Schwarz.

English: „Party azure per pale Or; on the pale counterchanging and countercolouring Or and sable, an upright hempbreak above a ring.“

The arms were drawn by Kurt Schweder who designed coats of arms for all districts of Essen in die 1980s; they were never official used, but meanwhile recognized by the citizens of Essen and its districts.

The arms show the colours of the City of Essen azure and Or. The hempbreak is derived from the arms of the Lords of Horst and ring comes from the arms of the former City of Steele.
