Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Stadt Freckenhorst, seit 1975 Stadtteil von Warendorf: „Unter rotem Schildhaupt, darin nebeneinander drei fünfzackige goldene (gelbe) Sterne, golden (gelb).“
Das Wappen wurde 1969 der durch Eingleiderung des Kirchspiels Freckenhorst neu gebildeten Stadt vom Regierungspräsidenten Münster genehmigt. Es ist das 1939 vom Oberpräsidenten der Provinz Westfalen genehmigte Amtswappen. Es entstammt dem Siegel der Herren von Vernhove, welche den Amtsschultenhof des Fraustiftes zu Lehen trugen. Die Farben stammen vom Wappen des Hochstiftes Münster.
English: „Or, a chief gules, therein three five rays stars Or.“
The arms were granted in 1969 and are based on the old arms of the Amt Freckenhorst, which based again on the old arms of the Lords of Vernhove, who held many possessions in the area. The colours are derived from the arms of the Münster diocese, to which the city belonged. |
