Object history
Deutsch: Nach der am 1. Juli 1974 erfolgten Eingliederung der früheren Gemeinde Grab, deren Name auf den dort verlaufenden und noch in Resten erkennbaren römischen Pfahlgraben (Limes) hinweist, beschloss der Gemeinderat, das „redende" Wappen von Großerlach, das eine große und zwei kleine Erlen enthalten hatte, abzulegen. Es sollte durch ein beide Gemeindeteile repräsentierendes neues Wappen ersetzt werden. Aus diesem Grunde wurde der Limes-Wachtturm aus dem früheren Wappen von Grab mit den „redenden" Erlenzweigen verbunden. Das Landratsamt Rems-Murr-Kreis hat das neue Wappen und die Flagge am 4. April 1978 verliehen.
