Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Hiltrup, seit 1975 Stadtteil von Münster (Westfalen): „In Gold (Gelb) ein schrägliegender roter Anker, im linken Obereck ein rotes Sonnenrad mit silbernen (weißen) Speichen.“
Das vom Innenminister des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen 1965 verliehene Wappen zeigt neben dem Anker mit doppelter Bedeutung - als Attribut des Papstes Klemens, Patron der Ortskirche und als Sinnbild für den Kanalhafen am Dortmund-Ems-Kanal, das Sonnenrad als redendes Symbol, bezogen auf den Namen des mittelalterlichen Adelsgeschlechts Sonnborn, welche in Hiltrup großen Einfluss hatten. Die Farben entstammen dem Wappen des Hochstiftes Münster.

The arms were granted in 1965. The arms show in the upper left corner a sun wheel, derived from the arms of the medieval Sonnborn family. The family had their estate near Hiltrup. The anchor is here a symbol with two meanings - first for St. Clement, patron saint of the village and second for the canal port. The colours are derived from the colours of the State of Münster, to which the village historically belonged. |
