Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Stadt Holten ab 1917 Stadtteil von Sterkrade und seit 1929 Stadtteil von Oberhausen: „In Gold (Gelb) ein gespaltener Balken; vorn, rot-silbernes (weißes) Wolkenfeh; hinten, dreireihig geschacht von Silber (Weiß) und Rot.“
Das Wappen entstammt einem alten Stadtsiegel aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Es vereint die Symbole der Edelherrin Mechtild von Holte(n) (Wolkenfeh) und Engelbert II. von der Mark (Schachbalken). English: Or, a fess parted per pale to dexter per fess nebuly Gules and Argent and to sinister chequy of three Argent and Gules. The arms are derived from a seal of the 13th century. They combine the symbols of Mechtild von Holte(n) and Engelbert II of the Mark. |
