Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Neubeckum, seit 1975 Stadtteil von Beckum: „In Rot ein schräges silbernes (weißes) Eisenbahngeleise auf silbernen (weißen) Schwellen, begleitet von je einem silbernen (weißen) Wellenbalken.“
Das vom Innenminister des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen im Jahre 1959 verliehene Wappen zeigt das bisher selten in der Kommunalheraldik verwendete Symbol eines Schienstrangs. Es drückt die große Bedeutung des Ortes als Eisenbahnknotenpunkt aus. Die Wellenbalken stehen für für "Heim am Bach", ähnlich wie im Wappen der Stadt Beckum, genauso wie die Farben rot und weiß.
English: „Gules, a bend railroad track and sleepers Argent accompanied from two bends wavy Argent.“
The arms were granted in 1959 and show, rather unique, a railroad track flanked by two wavy bends. The track indicates the importance of the town as on a major railway crossing in the State. The railways also played a major role in the local development. The two wavy bends are canting, Beckum is derived from the word in local dialect for stream. The colours are derived from the arms of the town of Beckum. |
