Object history
Deutsch: Seit 1614 ist das Wappen in den Stadtsiegeln belegt. Es vereinigt das Symbol der befestigten Stadt mit dem Wappen der Herren von Rosenberg, die die Stadt von 1415 an besaßen. Auch die Hissflagge zeigt die Farben dieses Geschlechts, die zugleich die Farben des Hochstifts Würzburg waren, an das das Lehen 1632 heimfiel. Nach Berichtigung kleinerer Abweichungen bestätigte das Innenministerium am 24. Juni 1957 die jetzige Form des Wappens. Am 17. April 1967 verlieh es die Flagge.
