Object history
Deutsch: Vor 1803 gehörte Oberlauda zur Herrschaft Lauda, ​​von 1803 bis 1806 zum Fürstentum Leiningen und seit 1806 zum Großherzogtum Baden. Oberlauda war seit 1635 mit dem nahe gelegenen Dorf Heckfeld verbunden. Beide hatten einen gemeinsamen Bürgermeister und ein gemeinsames Gericht. Seit 1685 waren Oberlauda und Heckfeld zwei selbstständige Gemeinden. Ein Siegel mit den drei Ringen wurde erstmals am 5. Juli 1744 verwendet. Laut einem Protokoll des Stadtrates von Lauda aus dem Jahr 1777 waren die Ringe nur drei Initialen "O", die die Gemeinde symbolisierten. Sie verwandelten sich 1811 in Ringe, wahrscheinlich durch einen Fehler des Siegelstechers.
English: Before 1803 Oberlauda was part of the Lordship of Lauda, from 1803 to 1806 of the Principality of Leiningen and since 1806 of the Grand Duchy of Baden. Oberlauda since 1635 was connected with the nearby village of Heckfeld. Both had a common mayor and a common court. Since 1685 Oberlauda and Heckfeld were two independent municipalities. A seal displaying the three annulets was first used on 5 July 1744. According to a protocol of the city council of Lauda from 1777, the annulets had been just three initials "O" symbolizing the municipality. They morphed into annulets in 1811, probably by an error of the seal-engraver.
