| Blazon | Deutsch: Über blauem Wellenschildfuss gespalten und zeigt vorne in Silber einen goldgekrönten und goldbewehrten roten Hahn (der Grafen von Spee), hinten in Gold einen schwarzen Maueranker (der Fürsten von Hatzfeld). Der Wellenschildfuss repräsentiert den an Wittlaer angrenzenden Rhein. Der Spee’sche Hahn steht für das im damaligen Gemeindegebiet gelegene, zum Spee’schen Grundbesitz gehörende Schloss Heltorf, der Hatzfeld’sche Maueranker für das Schloss Kalkum, Eigentum der Herren von Hatzfeld. English: The base of the arms symbolises the Rhein river, on which the municipality was situated. The rooster is derived from the arms of the Counts of Spee, who owned the large castle and estate of Heltorf. The wall-anchor is derived from the arms of the Princes of Hatzfeld, who owned the estate of Kalkum. The division of the shield also symbolises the three former municipalities, Bockum, Kalkum and Wittlaer. |
