Summary edit

Description
English: „Argent, above a wavy terrace base azure a tree vert with two birds sable in the upper branches, accompanied from two litte trees vert.“ The arms were officially granted in 1952. Wolbeck was in Medieval times a town and the capital of a Amt of the State of Münster. The oldest seal of the town is known from 1310, but dates from the late 13th century. It already showed a tree with three birds. The tree is probably canting, the name is derived from "Woltbeke", or wood nearby a small river. The original seal showed the tree standing on a triple mountain, which in the late 19th century was replaced by the wavy base, representing a river, thus making the arms more canting. Why and when the third bird was removed is not known.
